Two years after the original Vortex was released the Professional seeks to improve upon the tool-like nature and legibility of the watch. I think that for many people the original Vortex is going to be more of a "style" watch, but the Professional is just that - for more serious situations where durability and legibility are essential.

My fav is the "for no reason rather than it is a new year" limited edition Mille Miglia GL XL Chrono 2010 with its pretty perlage polished metal dial and larger 44mm wide steel case. Inside both watches is a base Swiss ETA 7750 automatic chronograph movement with custom Chopard engraved rotors. The movements are both COSC Chronometer certified. Mille Miglia dials have always been relatively clear. The 2010 GL XL Chrono doesn't stray from that too much. The perlage dial has applied hour markers (with lume), and easy to spot hands and subsidiary chronograph dials. Certainly a very masculine timepiece that few men can say without a doubt that they would not proudly wear. Though I could easily do without the "12" and "6" numerals applied to the sapphire crystal. Of course it has the typical Mille Miglia porthole leather strap (alternative is always the 1960s Dunlop tire tread rubber strap).
As you can see, you can adjust the watch in both directions, and the result is flawless. While not the same concept really, the theme is in the same class as the previously discussed Ludovic Ballouard Upside Down watch. If you are a sun-worshiper I can think of no better watch if want a high-end piece from an independent watch maker. Even then, at a price of 49,860 Swiss Francs, limited to just 144 pieces - the watch isn't cheap, but in my opinion represents a pretty solid value for what you are getting.

For those of you who love all of the Hublot content here is an exclusive look at a brand new one for 2012 with a new in-house made movement. This is the Hublot King Power Unico GMT watch. It has a unique way of showing 24 timezones on the dial and looks very slick. The idea is very similar to how the Girard-Perregaux ww.tc works, but just displayed in a very different manner.
